About us......

It gives me much pride and pleasure that the 'Citycroft' name is held in partnership with my sister and friend, Rachel. We both have shared a passion for dogs since our lives began and now have forged our 'Whippet partnership' and enjoy this special past time together.

Myself and Rachel have known nothing other than a life with dogs. Some of our earliest memories involve the family dogs and it's scary to think that between us we now have over 50 years of dog ownership!

It was not until Rachel's 15th birthday that our first whippet entered our lives in the form of a brindle boy called Tizer. He lived a happy life into his late teens, sadly passing away in 2008. Tizer introduced us to this special breed and now neither of us could imagine life without Whippets.

Rachel spent several years working with dogs at "Guide Dogs". We have been keen to use the knowledge and experience gained. We have clear opinions and programmes in relation to feeding and training and are proud of the fit, healthy and happy dogs that we have living as part of our family today.

I competed on a regular basis with horses as a youngster and first set foot into the world of dog shows in the mid 90's, around 15 years ago.

If you visit the 'show team' page, you will be able to view the dogs that we are currently campaigning as well as our much loved Whippets that stay at home on the sofa.

My son Conor, is a budding Junior handler and although only 4, he already has a wonderful bond and rapport with all of the whippets.

We occasionally breed a well raised litter, with health and temperament being of paramount importance; we strive to breed whippets of both sound mind and body. Our puppies are lovingly raised in a family environment with only the best care and attention.

You may be wondering, why Citycroft? Along with our life long passion for dogs, we as a family are ardent Manchester City supporters. If at a weekend we are not a show you can normally find us supporting the Blues. Therefore Citycroft seemed perfect to reflect our 2 great loves as a family; our whippets and MCFC.
